Cold? You won't be with these winter sports!

Over the past week I have had the privilege, nay, the liberty, to participate in not one, not two, but THREE winter sports. The first was cross country skiing. This was our magical teacher. Is he great, or is he great?

I have gone before when I was younger, and it was H.E. double hockey sticks then. This time it was ten times that because most of it felt like I was going up hill. People compered it to portaging,  I compare it to walking up mount Everest with banana peels strapped to your feet. All while there is a race. This was me in a nutshell:
I felt like this:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYAbP5gXuLM  (I tried to find some nice action shots of skiers going up hill, but I think they are nonexistent...)
I looked like this:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZOFWEXIu9yk
Going down hills though was a blast! I think the class would agree. You just felt so much more free! I loved it with all my heart.
On the way down the hill there were racers coming down, so I had to stay to the side. When a racer came by I would fall so that I could crawl to the side so that they could pass me. Once when I did that I fell in the snow, and then fell deeper in. I called for Parker, but he didn't hear me. Thank god Peter and Robbie were behind me. I kept falling deeper and deeper in. I got my skis off, and Robbie pulled me out. Now, I don't think you have much of a visual, this was me, no over reacting at all.

But I got out, skied to the bottom with Robbie, we were the last ones back. Half an hour behind the leading group. And then it was our next sport. Snow shoeing.
It was way easier then the last time I went snowshoeing. I went with my CELP class during winter trip. We had to pull sleds while wearing the snow shoes. Pretty crazy stuff!

Frank and I don't mess around!
So, this time it was a walk in the park. I was fallowing Nik, Mathias, Parker, Laura, Isaac, and Robbie. We took our time, took detours, and the whole bit. I had a blast. But, we were last... again. I don't even mind being last. I notice when I am last, I have a billion times more fun then being first. Is that only me?

Side note not about winter sports: While waiting on the bus to leave, we got the notification that Jodi and Emma from the other bus were lost. How? Only god knows. So we waited. And we waited. And we waited. Soo they sent a snow mobile after them and they were found. They were lost for a bout an hour. Goodness. When is Mr. Cluff teaching them? I feel so safe going with him to Nunavut... just kidding of course!

Back to the story: Over all, it was an amazing day!
The next day we went skating! WEEEEEE! Just kidding, I am not the biggest fan of skating. I did a few laps around the city hall rink, when I noticed Kendra helping Steph. I grabbed Steph on her other side because she looked kind of tipsy. Half way around the ice I thought of my helmet in my bag. I deserted the two and got the helmet. I made it fit Steph. She was way more comfortable with it on. We did a few laps, then it was time to go. I am so happy i got to help out Steph because I feel like we got closer after our conversations. Also, I feel i would have been bored just skating laps, she gave me something to do.

On Tuesday we curl. When I was apart of the Curling Legue I wasn't a fan. Hopefully I like it more.

Let us pray we get to wear these pants.

FUN FACT! For the national tournament shown above, in the opening ceremony I got to hold the Newfoundland flag! Jealous?
